Notarial certifications

Signatures, copies, transcripts, extracts, translations and dates can also be certified at our Notary’s office. The certification attests to the authenticity of a signature or confirms that a document is a true copy of the original. This makes your documents valid for use in law both nationally and internationally. The notarisation certificate can also be drawn up in a foreign language.

Public notarisation under domestic law

We draw up public deeds for transactions that are legally significant for which notarisation is prescribed by law. Examples of this include the establishment of legal entities such as public limited companies, amendments to statutes for associations, as well as legal transactions involving property.

We also notarise legally relevant facts and legal relationships, provided that there is a legitimate interest and the legal bases are comprehensible. Public deeds provide clarity and ensure long-term legal certainty.

We also draw up notarial deeds in English, French and Spanish. Multilingual deeds are also possible.

Public notarisation under foreign law

We also notarise legal transactions under foreign law on request, provided that the content is understandable and we are able to gain an overview of the legal bases. We review whether the transaction to be certified is compatible with foreign law, and whether the parties have received adequate information about the significance and scope of the declarations made by them. Alternatively, public notarisation according to foreign law can take place if the party is represented by a lawyer who is authorised to practise law in the jurisdiction under whose law the foreign deed is drawn up.

In addition, we record sworn statements, statements under oath and similar forms of declaration as required by foreign courts or authorities. We also record unsworn or sworn witness statements for use in court proceedings abroad or in preparation for these.

Enforceable deeds and documents

If you plan to enter into an agreement that is supposed to be directly enforceable in the event of failure to perform, we can draw up an enforceable notarial deed for you. This has the same effect as a court decision and enables direct enforcement without requiring court proceedings beforehand. This type of deed has proven to be particularly useful for debt acknowledgements or settlement agreements.

Registration and archiving

All deeds and documents drawn up in our Notary’s office are registered and archived in compliance with the law. The statutory retention period is a minimum of ten years, which guarantees long-term safekeeping for your documents.

Apostilles and additional authentication

An apostille or additional authentication is often required if you plan to use a notarial deed abroad. We will be happy to advise you on the corresponding requirements and assist you in preparing the deeds and documents and obtaining the apostille so that your documents are also recognised in law internationally.

The Notary’s office
in Liechtenstein

The Notary’s office in Liechtenstein is a public office that performs sovereign tasks within the context of public administration. Its primary function is to draw up public deeds and to confirm the authenticity of documentary components, including in particular signatures.

Notaries act independently and with impartiality in this process. The deeds that they draw up enjoy public faith and trust. The term “public” here refers to the Notary’s official status and not to general accessibility. All processes are subject to strict confidentiality and are handled with the utmost discretion.

We take this responsibility seriously at our Notary’s office, with a particular appreciation of quality and accuracy. We support our clients with legal precision, personal commitment and a clear focus on their individual concerns. We are your reliable partners every step of the way, from the initial consultation to the legally binding deed, ensuring a transparent, secure and comprehensible process.

Fees

Our fees are based on the guidelines recommended by the Chamber of Notaries and the legal requirements under the Notaries Act. The costs depend on the type, scope and complexity of the respective service and are agreed with you beforehand in full transparency. Our aim is to provide you with a fair and comprehensible cost structure.

Making use of notarial services is not a mandatory requirement in Liechtenstein. Despite this, many of our clients deliberately opt for notarial support, as this provides them with legal certainty, clarity in documentation and international recognition. This is a significant advantage, particularly with complex or cross-border cases.
